Leaving On Jet Plane - Well, Maybe

Most of you know that I live in TEXAS.

What you probably don't know ... is that I have never been to Californ-I-A.

I AM THINKING SERIOUSLY ABOUT GOING!

To San Francisco - in July.

I am!

Do you know why?

That is when the BLOGHER '08 CONFERENCE is. It's July 18 - July 20 and I think it sounds like a great way to meet other bloggers and learn some new stuff about blogging from a bunch of great speakers.

How about you? Are you going?

On the upside ... NO KIDS - THREE DAYS IN SAN FRANCISCO - MEET SOME OF MY BLOGGING BUDDIES - DID I MENTION ...NO KIDS - I AM SERIOUSLY THINKING ABOUT GOING!

oh this sounds like sooooooo much FUN!! and it is only 45 min from home...i think i am going to go...i hope to see y'all there.

ya know it almost seems strange to think that there are people who have never been to california. then i think about all of the states that i have yet to visit and the idea seems less silly...of course we have Mickey Mouse and he and his chick Minnie are a huge draw...

you will love CA...especially THIS part...SF is a fun city! we will most def have to meet up!

You should DEFINITELY go! ESPECIALLY if you've never been to CA! If I had money, I'd so be there.

I would love to hear all about it. If I could drive, I would go, too. Budget constraints this year. I spent 3 weeks in San Fran last year, but for the wrong reasons. That was where hubby's surgery and subsequent rehabilitation was. I think I got my fill. It is so beautiful, though. I just LOVE the ocean!
KEEP BELIEVING

As you know, I am there! I forgot to mention on my blog post about this, and you may have noticed, that for people who would like to help out at the conference (there are many different volunteer opportunities)they can have their conference paid for. I'm on a wing and a prayer as far as the cost, but am remaining optimistic!

I SO hope you go!

I'm sure it will be loads of fun! Maybe I'll go sometime although probably not this year.

That sounds wonderful and I have never been to CA either. But I will probably have to wait until my kids are older. I doubt hubby would make it 3 days alone with the kids. ;)

I think you should go for sure Kellan - then you can come back here and tell all of us who can't get there all about it.

We went to SanFran last year and it was GREAT! If money wasn't such an issue right now I think I would seriously go to.

Hi, Kellan!

Wow! Thanks for the link. Just went to BlogHer's site, that sounds absolutely awesome! You should definitely go Kellan! I think you would be a fabulous speaker, too. People would be very interested, I think, in how you do what you do. I would LOVE to go! Meeting you and other bloggers that I "talk" to every day would be so great! Can you imagine the fun we would all have?!

I was born and raised in the Bay Area. San Francisco is one of my favorite places in the world. You must go Kellan!

And, just for the record for all the commenters above me...it's not San Fran (or, heaven-forbid, Frisco). It's San Francisco or The City! ;) Surest way to tag yourself as a tourist is to call it San Fran or Frisco. Next surest way is to panic during an earthquake!

I hope you can go. The conference itself would be fun, but it's also a beautiful area for sight-seeing!

Thanks for letting me know about this. I live in the Bay Area, so I will attend. How exciting!

Sounds like fun. You should go (and receive every award known in blogdom) as it would be a nice break.
If I had the money I would do it!

Sounds like a great time!
I can't picture me bringing my three screaming banshees along with me on the trip, and I can't picture leaving them with hubby while he tries to work and take care of them, so I guess I'll stay here in frigid Wisconsin.

of course i am. you should come, it's terrific fun.

I have been thinking about going. I just looked at my canander and realized that it is the weekend before our family vacation. So I can decide that I shouldn't go anywhere that closet to a family vacation, or that I will see enough of my family on the vacation, so why not take a couple days to connect with bloggers. We will see what I decide.

Shan said...

I would love to go. It's not in the cards right now, but maybe someday.

Yes, it would be fun. But it's half a world away from me! Besides, my plane ticket money will be used on tickets to visit my family!!

But, if you decide to go, have a great time! I'm going to enjoy reading about it, I think..

Mommies need to have time-off from little people. I went for a 3 days 2 nights womens retreat last year. My first time leaving the children with hubby. I had a GREAT time and so did they ;-). So please go and share with us what you learn.

Most likely I will be moving this summer, so I don't see it as an option. But SF is one of my favorite cities! There is so much to do, great food, great shopping. We lived in the east Bay for awhile. My little girl was born there.

Wow Kellan, I had totally forgot about the whole Blogher stuff! Thanks for reminding me, I am so new at this still...I signed up for Blogher and don't think I finished filling anything out...

As for the conference, we will be on vacation, but it sounds like a blast! I hope next year when I have a little more experience under my belt, I can go!

Kellan~ I would love to go, but the timing isn't good for me. I need to have these little tikes a bit older...and I need to win the lottery first. *hmmmm* Please fill me in on everything great I am missing!

I hear ya about the shopping trip, I went shopping on Wednesday, as I am pulling up to the store I knew I was in for it...a local bus dropping off senior citizens- Ugh.

Hope you had a great weekend!
