Dear God ...

Dear God,

I know ....

I am the last person on this earth that should be asking You for blessings ...

As there is no one I know that You love ... more than You love me.

There is no one ... that has been more blessed.

There is no one ... that has had more happiness.

There is no one ... that has known more love.

And yet ... here I am.

Asking for your help ...

Pleading ...

Kneeling before you in humble prayer ...

Please ...

Take some of the light, Lord ...

That You have so graciously and so abundantly shown on my life ...

And move that light ...

Move it ...

To shine just as brightly ...

To shine just as mercifully ...

To shine just as lovingly ...

On the life of this child ...

Take some of my light, Lord ...

The light that is filled with Your love ...

Take it ...

Please ...

And shine it on him ...

I have more than enough to share.

Still praying for his body to fill with strength.

I can't help thinking how tiny and fragile he looks and yet, there must be so much strength in his little body to be fighting all this while.

I'll be thinking of all of you.

Oh, isn't it just so scary when they are born so tiny and you're helpless to do anything but wait and watch? Thank goodness for modern medicine and technology! So many babies survive nowadays when born so early and so tiny! Good luck to you all!!!

God, he's so tiny. We know that he's in Your hands. Please continue to increase his strength and development inside so that he can go home to live with his family. And, Lord, be with the family as well. They need Your strength, too. Amen.

I am thinking of you, the baby, your whole family. I'm praying. This post was very moving. My step-son and his wife had twin sons five months ago born at 25 weeks and weighing a pound each. There is a long road ahead, but they are finally at home, albeit with oxygen, monitors, and numerous medications. I will hope and pray for a positive outcome for your little one. Miracles.

I found you through another blog and wanted to let you know I will be praying for your precious nephew. I have triplet girls who were born at 25.1 weeks and the NICU road is tough, but God is good and he will watch over your family.

Ivan said...

Yes and Amen.

He is more than able to do it!

Goldenrod said...

Kellan, you published the most beautiful prayer yesterday that I think I have ever read.

You haven't posted yet today, so I don't know what the status is.

The only thoughts I might try and add to what has already been said are these ...

Every child is a miracle.

I believe that God holds each of each, and especially very small children, in His loving arms. He has been enveloping this little one ever since his birth with His love and warmth.

My thoughts and prayers have been silently with you and your family these past few days, Kellan, as you have detailed in your posts this teeny one's struggle to live.

I will be checking back with you later today. Love, h

Courtney said...

He is listening, you are his child. He will do whatever his will is and you will be at peace with it. Still praying!

Mo said...

I hope he is improving. I am still praying for the sweet little one to get better.

Sending tons of prayers and the sweet thoughts that got my little Gavin out of the NICU after 3 weeks. He was born 2 months early and he too was a fighter.
God bless you and your loved ones and may god take a little of my sunshine and shine it upon the NICU also.

Cathy said...

You just gave me chills. Adding my thoughts and prayers as well, although they aren't as beautifully expressed as yours.
