Please continue to pray for my sweet little great-nephew.
He is just over a week old and holding his own.
I do not feel comfortable giving detailed updates, as I do not speak directly to the baby's mother and I don't want to make any assumptions that are not accurate. I just know that he is very tiny and so vulnerable and in need of prayers.
This is a very difficult time for the baby's mother and my sweet nephew - please keep them in your thoughts and prayers, as well as my sister, my mother and all of this baby's family.
My sister visits the baby daily and keeps me up to date on his condition, as I am not permitted to see him until he is much stronger.
We know God continues to watch over our baby and it will work out according to God's plan. We appreciate everyone that has been praying and worrying and inquiring about his condition.
For now ... we are hoping with all of our hearts, praying as hard as we can and waiting patiently for our baby to grow stronger and stronger each day.
Isn't he the sweetest little thing? I love how he touches his face and I love his little hands. I love this baby.

Such amazing photos. The delicate transluscent skin. Praying the little guy gets enough oxygen on his own. Praying God gives him the strength to sustain on his own. Praying he grows and thrives. Praying he has no residual problems. Praying for his lungs, his heart, his eyes, all his organs. Praying for his very life.

Reading about this makes me so thankful that we live in the day and age where little ones like this actually have a chance at life. To think that even 50 years ago he this miracle would not be possible.

This baby has definitely been in my thoughts and prayers.
My friend had a daughter that was born at 24 weeks and she was very vulnerable as well. I remember visiting her in the NICU and I couldn't believe how tiny she was in her little incubator. Her daddy's wedding band could fit all the way up her arm!
Anyway, she is almost 6 years old and you would never know she was a preemie! She was slow to reach certain milestones (walking and talking), but now she is a very healthy and happy little girl. She is actually bigger than my daughter now!
I will keep your nephew in my prayers. Have a great weekend!

Thanks for the update Kellan. I can not imagine what his mom is going through. I have continued to pray for your sweet baby. Here where I live we have an annual saving babies lives campain. All the money raised goes to NICU and toward purchasing life saving equipment. I want you to know I thought of your nephew as I pledged my donation.
Haven't stopped praying for your little guy. God has to be listening to all the love this little guy is getting.

He is just so beautiful, thinking and praying for him and your family. I told you of a friend here who has a babe born at 24 weeks as well. She is now 70 days old and doing well. She is finally starting to gain some weight on donated breast milk, her mom had to fight to get the hospital to allow it, but it seems to be doing some good. She has many issues still, but is a fighter with many people loving on her and praying for her, just like your nephew.
