In my life, I have had a lot of pets.
My father is a veterinarian, and so when I was growing up we always had a dog and a cat in our house.
Before I had kids and was single - I had cats.
Once I got married and we had kids - we got dogs.
We presently have 2 dogs and 2 cats.
This is Snape. He's a little over a year old. He's very sweet, but there is something not quite right with his brain. He's not all there. But ... we love him just the same.
This is Buddy. He was 7 years old in May. He's the alpha dog of the pets and yet ... he's a big ol' push over.
This is Banana Pancake. He's about 8 months old. This looks like a sweet kitten, but he's got a lion's heart and he's a bit of a wild one. He's lots of fun.
This is Barbie. She turned 3 years old in May. I should probably have gotten that watermelon I went to Wal-Mart to get ... instead of coming home with her (a lady was selling her in the parking lot). She is cute and I love her ... but she is a bit high maintenance.
Our Golden Retriever, Buddy, and I are very close.
Maybe it's because he was born on my birthday.
Maybe it's because I am the one that is around all day long.
Maybe it's because he knows how much I truly love him.
He is the sweetest dog there ever was. And, his mother, Ginger, (died of seizures) was just as sweet and lovable.
Buddy is the most tolerant and easy going dog I have ever been around. He is loving and playful and gentle. He is good with the children and has a good nature with strangers and friends, as well.
When I look into Buddy's eyes, I see the love and adoration. When I am in his presence, I feel his excitement and enthusiasm for life. He is a constant inspiration.
I think he must have been God's dog, before he came to us ... as he has the soul of an angel.
Don't tell the others, but ... he's my favorite!

I have a Buddy I feel the same way about.
What a handsome boy.
My Daisy is the same to me. 40 lbs of love I call her.
They are all so cute. I'm an animal lover myself and especially have a soft spot for cats. I can't imagine not having a pet in my life.
Barbie.
Barbie is the one for me.
All cute.
And how could anyone not love that cute face??! I just bet he gets away with murder! :)
All your pets are just the sweetest Kellan.

I love Goldens! I can totally understand how he can be so sweet. They have the BEST disposition.
I had a Ginger, that was a Golden, once. We had to put her to sleep at 9 months b/c her hips were so bad she could barely walk. I still miss her.
Aww, what a sweet family of pets you have. I have a Siamese cat that I adopted from the SPCA. Greg has a 14 year old Cockerpoo. Some days you know she's old, other days, she's fiesty.
They really are an important part of our family. Thanks for sharing pictures of yours!
We have one dog left out of four "family members of 3 dogs and 1 cat....He's my Buddy....I know how you feel...Happy weekend sweetie...hughugs
Awwww, what a sweet guy! And how nice for you to have that unconditional love (as Roar is sitting on my lap and across one arm so I can only move my fingers to type. Gotta love those purrs!
Your pets are adorable... real beauties!
Keep it a secret, the other three (animals) might not like to know that information ! !
What lucky kitties and pups to have a home with you. They're a handsome bunch!
With a face like that how could you not love him?
You have the sweetest pets, Kellan. I think I would love them all! And how on earth did Banana Pancake get his name?! LOL. It seems to fit him, though.
Our yellow lab must've been Buddy's adopted brother in heaven. He is just a big marshmellow. He is more in love with my hubby though. I think he knows I never quite forgave him for eating the leg on my Grandmother's antique table she left me.
Heh, Snape's story cracks me up. And, watermelon - dog, tee hee.
Nice to meet your pets
I have a little buddy visiting me. Everyone should, and all of yours are precious.
Aww! Golden retrievers are just such beautiful dogs, and I've never heard anyone say anything bad about them.
How funny that you have a cat named Banana Pancakes!!
I love that the cat's name is Banana Pancake!! LOVE it!
What a sweet guy Buddy looks like! :)
Aww that is so sweet, he looks like a gentle soul!
I am a cat person, I have 2 kitties which we have had for 12+ years.
Kimba is my baby, she is not a lap cat unfortunately but she is always near me, we are companions for life. :)
So which one is it that gets the free spay? :)
Achoo! (I'm allergic to dogs and cats.)
I would hug Buddy, if I could. He looks like the sweetest dog, and he has soulful eyes.
Awwwwwwwwh!! XOXO
Your entire menagerie is adorable...and aptly named! As a child growing up in an apartment, a mammal pet was out of the question. As a single adult (in an apartment) got a much-beloved bunny who live 8 happy years---into my married life and first house. Now, with 7 year old twins (one a dog boy; the other a cat girl) as soon as a fence goes up, I can scarcely wait to get the ark afloat.
So glad to have found your blog...came over from Catholic Teacher Musings...am gonna follow!
That's sweet!

This post scared me. I was afraid someone was gonna die. Thank you for just telling a happy pet story.
Do you read Jon Katz? I think you would love him. Kind of a modern philosopher,,,(although he wouldn't say that) whose dogs are the vehicle...Wonderful books like a Dog Year and others. I think you would like him
You have beautiful animals Kellan.
Buddy certainly looks like a woman's best friend! ; )
They're all beautiful animals. Golden retrievers are my favorite dog of all time, and I will have one....one day!

Pets bring so much to our lives don't they Kellan. Buddy looks like an angel!
Our Reilly is high-maintenance too (grooming) but worth it!
He looks like an angle. They're all so cute.
What a precious puppy! (yes...I use puppy for nearly all dogs...)
Funny, my sister and I have decided that while it's not okay to have a favorite child, the rule does not apply to dogs.
